I have, and have had for some years, Canon's camera software and photostitch program - today Secunia PSI proudly announced 'new software installed' in the canon folder, and claims the program now represents "samsung pc studio 3.x" -- anyone got any idea what is happening?

Hi neil_taylor;

In PSI, are both programs in the "secure program" list? If so, what are the file paths to each?

Secunia PSI currently ONLY reports the "Samsung" program - there is no longer an entry for the Canon name ... though the Samsung entry points at the existing Canon program...

the canon photo programs were installed in 2002, into C:\Program Files\Canon\PhotoStitch\
The program reported is C:\Program Files\Canon\PhotoStitch\Launcher.exe
There is no samsung software installed, anywhere, that I know of.
File Properties tells me:
Description: Canon Utilities PhotoStitch Launcher
Size: 116 KB (118,784 bytes)
Size on disk: 116 KB (118,784 bytes)
Created: 11 October 2002, 10:22:14
Modified: 11 October 2002, 10:22:14
Comments: PhotoStitch Launcher
Company: Canon Inc.
File version: 3.1.2 (main tab reports 3.1.2.0)
Internal Name: PhotoStitch Launcher
Original File name: Launcher.exe
Product Name: Canon Utilities Photostitch Launcher

C:\Program Files\Canon\PhotoStitch>md5 Launcher.exe

the full scan stated that the Samsung program "had been removed",
the Canon program is listed under "P" as "PhotoStitch 3.x" in the correct folder.
