|On Windows XP Pro (up to date - ver. 3)the PSI program takes almost one minute to start. This is much longer than any other program I use. I start PSI manualy when I want to use it. I beleive I am using the latest version. The program operates normaly, and I can complete al operations without a probl;em.|

The current version of PSI is 22.214.171.124 (ver. 126.96.36.199 is fine too, they just added more languages). The version number is on the bottom right of the PSI window.
It may be taking so long to start because you are not letting it run in the background as it was ment to run. If you allow it to start when you boot your computer and let it do it's thing that's best. The only time you'll know it's there is when there's a problem or when it compleats a scan (once a week for the scan).
I suspect you don't start PSI every day. With out going into detail, I don't either. My problem is the dial-up service is to sloooooooooow here. When I do start PSI it does a scan before the interface loads. This may be what your experiancing. If your computer alternates between sending data & running the hard drive when you start PSI, leave PSI on and do something else (check e-mail, play cards, whatever) for say fifteen minutes. Now shut down PSI by right clicking the icon in the taskbar & selecting Exit. Now restart PSI and see if it starts faster. If it does then I am correct.
Do consider letting PSI run at start-up & leaving it run in the background. It won't interfere with anything I'm aware of & will provide your system with the best defence against attack - up to date software!
