I have
Vista Home Premium 32 bit with sp2 and all security updates.
Secunia psi 1.5.0.0
I have 3 end of life programs on my machine which I intend to keep.

When I bring up the Secunia window, I cannot minimize or close it using the buttons in the upper right hand corner of the window.

I can do so by right clicking the tab on the start menu and choosing minimize or close.

Any ideas on how to fix this.

Hi froehle;

I'm not familiar with Vista, however one would think, clicking the [x] in the top right should close the window. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will give the answer.

As far as the EOL programs, so not to be bothered by PSI, try creating ignore rules for them. Just be aware when you use them, they may be vulnerable.

The close command does not exit me from the running of secunia, It only closes the window.

New to this but I thought Secunia was always running in the background.

Hi froehle;

PSI is meant to be on all the time, as PHIL53 points out. The close button [x] in top right does not exit PSI, it closes the window only. PSI runs in the backgroud to monitor changes to your system. The icon (three red arcs) remains in the system tray and PSI continues to run unless you right click that icon and select Exit.

Is this situation what you have?

That's the way it should work. The problem is that sometimes when the window is open, the 3 buttons are totally disabled. They click but the winow does not close or minimize. It is like it is busy doing something and doesn't have time to close the window.
