Hi

My PC is using Windows Vista (64-bit) Ultimate.

I had Silverlight SDK Version 2 installed (as well as version 3).

I uninstalled Version 2 using Control Panel etc. then I did a rescan and it showed up again as insecure.

I went to the file location and it appears as though all the files associated with the SDK Version 2 are still there. Just to be sure I went back to Control Panel/Programs and Features to see if the SDK Version 2 was there, but it wasn't listed (Version 3 was).

Does anybody have any bright ideas?

Kind regards

Ross

Is it version 3 or 2 that is showing as insecure ? Is 3 shown as vulnerable because of the older files? Should you simply delete them ?
I'm using Vista (some detail below in signature): I'm showing Silverlight version 3.0.40818.0 in Secunia and Revouninstaller ( which scans before and after removal for left-over files etc....making a clean uninstall). Even if there are old things in the recycle bin, Secunia may detect them.

Hi ross_peterson
What MOGS said-the deleted files may be in the recycle bin & the PSI will find & report them. As with any changes to Windoze I suggest
1. Empty recycle bin if you're sure you want
rid of the program & anything else residing there.

2. Reboot computer

3. Run full system scan

4. Please post back & let us know how you get on.

Regards, wr

Hi again, MOGS

Yea it's supposed to be rainy here later tonight & all day tomorrow(Sun).
But I'll take that rather than the weather we've had -9 straight days of sub-freezing temps. Even tho we're @ the foothills of the Smoky Mts. 'that ain't right'. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend-I'll close for now & not be filling everyones inbox with my 'banter'.

Regards, wr

Ross,
This should clear it.

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
=======================

If a programme is installed using Windows Installer it can be removed by using the Microsoft Cleanup Utility.

Download it from here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Once downloaded, open the programme & scroll up & down looking for the programme U wish to uninstall.

If found, highlight it & click the remove button (bottom right)

Reboot.
