Hello Barbareska ,

You are more likely to get help from the Forum if you post in English , which is the language of this Forum .

Take care

Hello Barbareska

If you meant "thread" as you wrote it ; you can't actually get rid of as in delete a whole thread , Secunia control that and they do not do tat very often .

You can delete an entry you have made by using the"EDIT" button below each of your posts and deleting everything you have written ; that is confusing for everyone . Edit is really to add something you forgot or clean up a sentence or two .

If you want to stop getting email alerts for a thread , above the first post is written :-

Subscription
You are subscribing to this thread. If you want to unsubscribe, please click here

Just click on "here" .

If you meant "threat" and have a Sun Java problem ; here is how to ask your question :-

To help resolve your problem , here are some instructions to help you first of all get the best out of PSI :-

1)use PSI in "advanced" mode ;
2)in the "settings" tab make sure that the box in the first/upper section is NOT ticked in order to have the maximum info available ;
3)tell us in which "tab(s)" your problem programme is located ;
4)in that tab , click on the + in the box at the left end of the programme , the page will expand ;
5)in the expanded page , tell us what is written in the "installation path" ;
6)in the "toolbox" section , lower down , the link "technical details" should confirm the installation path details ;
7)click on the link "open folder" and you will see more details concerning the location of the "problem" .

Posting these details will help the Forum help you , if/when you have a problem .

Where are the Sun Java programmes located ??

Hi Barbareska ,

Take your time ; if it helps , I can read French but Ich spreche kein Deutsch ; replies will always be in English from me :(

I am guessing from your first post that Java is showing as "Sicherheitslücken=vulnerable=insecure" in your Windows 7 . Instructions to deal with the problem will be in English :(

Hello Barbareska ,

Let us try to sort out your Java probblem , we can do it :))

If you go here :-

http://java.com/en/

Click the link "Free Java Download" ; it will offer to you the up to date version Java 6 update 18 , if you do not have it already . IF you already have the latest version , good .

Next ; you can delete/remove ALL earlier versions of Java like this :-

http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_jav...

Perhaps you can find this site in German version.

Run the PSI scan , if Java is still in "unsicher" Sicherheitslücken tell me where it is found(the diese or "installation path").

Please ask any questions you wish to ask , here , on this thread and I will try to help you .

Your English is good , I can understand you . If you are not sure of what I say , ask again .

Anthony

EDIT : you need to be using PSI in Ansicht :Erweitert = Advanced Mode (see top right of any PSI page)

No mistake Barbareska ,

After I post my reply , I reread it a few minutes later ; sometimes I see something that needs to be corrected or I might want to add something , so I use the "edit" button under my post and I can change my original post and keep everything together . The first mail says someone has replied to your thread , the next two should say edit of the reply (I edited twice). The original time at the heading of the post is the same but itwill note that it has been edited and you can reread the message.

I will not edit this post.

Hi Anthony,
In the mail exchange I have missed my answer to your explanation, how to install java, thanks !
Do you work for Secunia ? I´ve seen how often you help people who have difficulties with the PC or programmes, you must invest a lot of time for it !
regards, Barbareska

Hello again ,

Anyone who works for Secunia has "Secunia Official" in bright red colour in the column on the left side of their message - you can't miss it .

Only for example ,you can see clearly here in the second post of this thread :-

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/336...

Everyone else volunteers their help , please note that Secunia does NOT guarantee the advice "we" give

Today , I have a lot of time , but not always . There are many good advisers here but we all reply in English that way the advice is clear to all to read and add to if needed.

Anthony

Hi Barbareska ,

Don't worry , asking questions is fine ; we make and break our own rules a lot of the time .

Feel free to ask what you want , it is your community as well :))

Take care

Hi barbareska ,

Let me explain something ; I have no "technical" trainig and my suggestions and help I give here on the Forum are based on my own experience of dealing with the problems of updating software picked up by PSI .

Any "technical" advice that I need for me , I get from two friends who visit my house to help me or give advice over the telephone .

I also do my own searches (I use Google) for special information .

I do not know anything about "stack overflow" and it is not anything I think would interest me . What is your interest/reason in asking the question ??

If I Google "stack overflow" (in English) there are 1,5 million references !! Here is one :-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stack_overflow

These kind of questions you need to ask a "techie" friend or perhaps join a group who study using a computer.

The Forum here deals With PSI problems and anything that might help people to keep themselves and their computers safe and secure . I try to help with those problems.

Ask If you don't understand.
