Today marked my first experience with Secunia, and I am pleased! What follows is a chronicle of this experience. (I hope others have as rewarding an experience.)

1) My first scan revealed a problem with Google Chrome 3.x.
2) An attempt to perform the recommended solution revealed that I already had the recommended solution.
3) A visit to the forum allowed me to access information WITHOUT entering a profile first. --> I like that part!
4) Following the instructins posted by Anthony Wells, I found that Google Chrome 3.x had outlived its support lifespan and removed it as directed in the scan details.
5) Additionally, there were two applications needing updates, which were easily performed.
6) Reported results included 81(!) patches and 32(!) insecurities in Windows Explorer and other Windows programs. (I counted them. It appears to be time to switch to Firefox and look for alternatives to the other Windows programs.)
7) After rescanning, my computer received a 100% score.

I found the experience to be easy and trouble-free.

I use "dontknowsquat" as a screen name because that is my evaluation of my computer knowledge. Hopefully this post will serve as encouragement to any newbies (like me) who use this site.

Thanks Mogs,

I agree with you on freedom: politically, intelectually, philosophically, and any other area that is ethical and moral.

Agreeableness in language creates fewer grey areas and war zones. A truce is more easily achieved than a perfect peace ? There's not always a mountain of misunderstanding between us? My creed is more helpful than the banter in the politics ?
