Secunia PSI reported that Acrobat 8.2.0.81 was insecure. I updated to 8.2.1 and rescanned but PSI said that Acrobat was still version 8.2.0.81 and still insecure. If I open the folder using PSI and check the version, it appears as 8.2.0.81 in the folder, but if I open that application and check its version it appears as 8.2.1. Is this simply a cosmetic difference (patch applied but version appears inconsistent) or is there still a vulnerability? n.b. I have rebooted and also checked that only one copy of Acrobat is installed. |

It looks like a detection rule problem from Secunia , it has happened before with Acrobat taking longer than Reader alone . You will need to wait until Monday , at the earliest . If you check the other Acrobat threads by using the search facility at the top of the full thread listings (before posting :)) you will see you are not alone :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/356... http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/354... Reinstalled the patch. Rebooted. Re-scanned with Secunia. Unfortunately, to no avail. | ||||||||

Extra Information while 8.2.0.81 installed and detected by Secunia: Extra Information / Known Issues with Adobe Acrobat 8.x This update can be applied to Adobe Acrobat version 8.1.7. Users with version 8.1.6 can upgrade to version 8.1.7 by downloading and installing the MSP file. Users with version 8.1.6 should first upgrade to 8.1.7 before applying this update. After downloading the MSP update file, double-click the file to begin the update process. Looks like it's not fixed at Secunia detection level |
