The scan still shows that I have version 10.0.42.34 which is not secure.
I have d/l and installed version 10.0.45.2 which is the latest version. While my installed program shows the new version the scan continues to show I have a previous version.
I have installed the program twice, cleaned the cache etc. and as of todey 3/2/10 the scan still shows I have the wrong program. Help.

Hi Harvey Miller & welcome to the Forum

When updating Adobe products the update doesn't remove
the 'old' version. Also in order to remove the old program you
must use Adobes uninstaller-in addition you must
close ALL instances of programs that may use FP as
they will be locked because they're in use. This includes
ALL browsers, IMs, the PSI & anything else that uses FP.

Also there are 2 downloads available
1 for ActiveX (IE) & 1 for NPAPI (all other browsers) if used.

I think basically your best bet would be to download the uninstaller
uninstall all of FP & then install the latest version. After running
the uninstaller be sure to restart your comp & rescan the programs
to be sure ALL instances have been removed.

Here's the link to Adobe uninstaller:http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html?promoid...

Good luck.

Regards, wr

Hi All with problems installing Adobe Flashplayer

I had a hell of a job trying to download Adobe Flashplayer so that it was acceptable to Secunia - anyway I have and IT WORKS - with a clean bill of health finally from Secunia.

I am not the brightest bulb in the pack when it comes to computers and I needed the version that related to Windows 7 on IE 8 64 bit. I first uninstalled all Adobe Flash by using Revo Uninstaller on long scan. When Revo told me no traces of Adobe Flash were in my system I ran Secunia again and it came up good. I then right clicked Secunia on my toolbar and exited it. I then went into Adobe and downloaded the Adobe flash Uninstaller and saved it to my Desktop. I did the same with Flash Player WITHOUT the McAfee. I then closed IE and opened from my Desktop. It installed pefectly and I've run 2 scans already with Secunia to be doubly sure and all is fine.

I've now gone into IE again and all is good--Yipee!
