Just read your posts with M.Hansen.....been a long day....just caught up.
Have just run a scan and Screensaver doesn't show.
The version numbers you'd mentioned earlier I can't find.
Have you got the paid-for version......that might explain it?

Hi

As mentioned in the original thread, the screensaver does not require any other Auslogic programs to function.

I'm afraid we won't be able to detect the program unless Auslogic change their file information.

Thankyou Morten. I was merely trying to clear up any misunderstanding between Anthony and I. As far as I can see then; providing I ensure that the Screensaver version is kept up to date manually, it doesn't present any threat ?

There is no known vulnerabilities in the Screensaver at this time. So it should be safe to use.

Hello Mogs ,

Sorry for any confusion .

I have no paid programmes/versions of anything Auslogics , just the three stand alone programmes I mentioned in the previous thread .

PSi now (thanks to Morten:)) detects Disk Defrag for me which it did not do before ; I have the latest version 3.1.3.100 . You don't have this software .

I downloaded DD Screensaver yesterday to see if I would use it rather than the "auto run" settings that the latest DD has.

As Morten says DD Screensaver is "stand alone" and after running it I can see that it does not seem to use my current programme ; so I was wondering what it uses as there were no relevant files in the Auslogics Program Files folder . After a quick search , it seems that it brings it's own defrag software that it puts into the folder (at least on my PC with XP SP3) :-

C:\WINDOWS\Auslogics Disk Defrag Screensaver\..

in the folder , there is a file DiskDefrag.dll which shows as version 2.1.2.50 ; this "probably" refers to the older version series 2.x of the DD .

The actual version number of DD screensaver is 1.1.1.50 , there are no files in the ...\Windows\ ...folder to pick this up as such . However PSI could possibly pick up the .dll file , but which versio is relevant ??

Hope that is a bit clearer .

Take care
Anthony

Thanks Anthony.....you're right; I don't have the Disk Defrag.........Registry Scanner, ScreenSaver and Registry Defrag; is all I've got.
As you can see from other posts to the thread; the situation is clear; I shall continue using ScreenSaver.......I've become rather accustomed to it.
