Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

If I run windows update there is no update available.
Any idea?

Hi,

Some Windows update require you to reboot and rescan. Please reboot, check Microsoft update again, installing any updates that have become available (if you did install something, reboot and repeat), and once it shows no more updates available, rescan with the PSI.

hope this helps.

I have the same problem...Microsoft Updates says there are no updates for my computer (XP Pro, Dell Dimmension desktop) but Secunia PSI insists I am unsecure. I have no idea what PSI is objecting to, in Advanced it just says Microsoft Windows XP Professional with a link to Microsoft Update. I am very confused.

I did indeed reboot (even shut down overnight). Ran Belarc and it reported all updated. Reran Microsoft Update using EXPRESS and there are no critical updates available. Ran CUSTOM and found 8 non critical but theye are all at least a month old or older (so I conclude they are not at fault). I still am showing one unsecure. If I read this right it seems to be objecting to SA39382 . I found the Microsoft patch for this KB to have been successfully added but I removed it and downloaded it again but no help.

I am having the same problem. Have clicked the solution button. No critical updates found. Have rebooted computer twice and re-scanned twice with same results. Also, I have automatic updates turned on so I should not haave any issues with windows anyway. Loui

I did a reboot, checked also with the other tool, no violations found (there where 2 violations for IE6 shown but I'm switched to IE8 long time ago)..

This thread might be worth looking at:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/403...

An uninstall & reinstall of PSI seems to have done the trick.

An uninstall of PSI Version 1.5.0.0 and install of PSI Version 1.5.0.1 did the trick for me.

Upgrading to 1.5.0.1 solved my problems also. I wonder why Secunia didn't alert users to the upgrade?
Happy again......

Hi
The PSI version 1.5.0.1 is simply a language update, adding 42 languages to the PSI interface.
Since its the only change, its not a recommended update and you wont get notified if you are running 1.5.0.0.

Reinstalling the PSI should in most cases solve the issue with scan results not being updated after a scan (due to server issues Friday 16th April.)

We're sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.
