Hi

I downloaded the latest install of PSI, and am now trying to silently install this program under Windows 7 installation. So far I figured this switch:
PSISetup.exe /S

It does the job, except for a final window "Do you want to start Secunia PSI now (Y/N)?"

How can I include my answer (no) in the silent install switch?

Hi

At this time it's not possible to make a completely silent install of the PSI.
I have however added this to our suggestion list for improvements and bugfixes and it might be added for a future release of the PSI.

Hi Mogs

A silent install refers to a software installation where no interaction or windows pops up under the installation. You can also perform a unattended install without any user interaction but with a progress bar or similar.

This can be done by many programs and can save a lot of time

Thankyou very much for the explanation....I'll have to look out for it.
Have a good day.

I saw this, Mogs, and was intrigued by "silent instal". I found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_install.

Does a program installed this way actually appears in Control Panel/Add-Remove? My wireless program for my ISP doesn't, and perhaps it was a "Silent install" program?

Thanks taffy....don't know why, I don't seem to think of going to Wikipedia etc., first off myself. Too many years of having my reference books to hand I suppose.
Anyrate, read the Wiki-article, thanks to your link.
I was intrigued myself, at first.....thinking silent install was a reference to a more sort of incognito process. But, the way it came over, as explained by M. Hansen, it seems to be perhaps just a speedier method....perhaps more advantageous in a business/office environment. No need of a wizard ?!
I would have thought the prog would still show up in install/uninstall....supposition on my part....if it didn't, one's memory would need to be good ? That app. of your's surely appears somewhere ?

The programs that you install silently should appear just as they would if you installed them normally, in the add/remove programs, in the start menu and sometimes on the desktop (depending on how the silent install is set up)

Thanks Morten/Mogs. Very helpful, as ever.

If ever I met you, I'd buy you a beer!

Nope, sometimes I check the Secunia Forum from home, yesterday just happened to be just before I went to bed. :-)
