Hi RAF1969

Within the last couple Secunia have carried out some major maintenance on PSI, which has caused a few irregular problems, for different users.

What has been a cure for a multitude of problems, is to un- and re- install PSI.

If, as an established user, you still have v.1.5.0.0. installed, then by removing this from add/remove and re-installing v.1.5.0.1. (not a required update, but just language additions), could well solve your problem. Even if you have the latest version, this option can still be tried, in order to reset the scanner.

If this doesn't work, then post back for more assistance - there have been a couple of other similar problems reported here - one of which is waiting for an answer from Secunia.

The originator of the following thread has replied to a similar problem, last Fri (30/04), and states after submitting an error report (or similar) to Secunia, he is awaiting their reply/advice.

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/406...

You can follow the above thread - the advice has varying degrees of relevancy/helpfulness - but in this case, didn't help resolve the problem (as of yet).

Also, a relatively easy piece of advice (from Secunia), is to check that your system clock is accurately set.

Otherwise, it's probably a case of waiting for Secunia to directly respond - and also see if the above thread receives further input.

Sorry I'm unable to help more.

Hi TiMow. I am the one who submitted a bug report to Emil Petersen last week.
Emil informed me on 29/4 that he was still busy with the subject and that he needed a few days more. So I connclude that it's not a simple problem. I just wait for news from Emil.

I noticed a computer slowdown and discovered that Secunia is scanning daily, and I think it has been for the last few days. I'll try the uninstall/reinstall first to see if it has any effect.

Hi Silvatek, you can try a de-install/re-install but it may be in vain. I have the
same problem since early last week and contacted Secunia Support. Later I sent them a bug report and Emil Petersen confirmed on 29/4 that he was still busy on the problem and that he needed more time.

Thanks for the update. I'll run it manually until there's a resolution.

Hi to all interested in this issue. This morning Morten Hansen, PSI Support,
informed me that some changes were made in PSI. He advised to start a scan
and wait to see if a new scan starts in a short time again.

Hi Silvatek. The problem isn't solved yet. I hand-started the scan at 13.23hrs
and it ran again at 20.12hrs. What was your result? I informed Emil already.

Leendert

Unfortunately, I had to reboot. As PSI is now set to manual I failed to get a proper test. I'll try again.

Still scanning too frequently. I can't see a pattern yet, but instead of waiting a week it was two or three hours. I'm switching back to "manual".
