I have downloaded a security (threat level 4) patch via the PSI Forum for Adobe 9.3.2 repeatedly in the week ended 1st May 2010 and re-scanned my system with Secunia PS1 but the item is not removed from the threat list. Anyone have a similar experience and have a suggestion?

Hello.
If you go to the Progams forum, you will see that you can choose vendor and specific program. If you fill in the vendor box with Adobe Systems it will take you to many threads concerning, which should be of some help. Regards

Hi Robin

In the first instance, this could be worth a try.

Within the last couple Secunia have carried out some major maintenance on PSI, which has caused a few irregular problems, for different users.

What has been a cure for a multitude of problems, is to un- and re- install PSI.

If, as an established user, you still have v.1.5.0.0. installed, then by removing this from add/remove and re-installing v.1.5.0.1. (not a required update, but just language additions), could well solve your problem. Even if you have the latest version, this option can still be tried, in order to reset the scanner.

If this doesn't work, then post back for more assistance, or type in Adobe Reader into the search box at the top of the forum page, as there have been other similar reported problems, here on the forum.

This silly programme has been - and is still - driving me up the wall for a long time.
I have exactly the same experiences as you have.
I read an article the other day about a new programme, freeware as well, but unfortunately I've lost the magazine it was in.
It is ridiculous actually that this firm is not doing a better job in making a decent update.
Secunia used to have the possibility to qualify programmes like this as unsatisfactory but I can't find that anymore.
However it spoils my rating, which could be as high as 100 % if it wasn't for this silly affair.
Wish you strenght !

Hi again Robin

I am unable to edit my previous reply, so I will just add the following:

Having checked a few previous threads re. this problem, it appears the above advice may solve it.

Also, have just found a PSI uninstaller in the following location:

C:\Program Files\Secunia\PSI\Uninstall.exe to uninstall.

if you wanted to use this, and not remove from add/remove.

Hello.
Foxit Reader has been around a long time...I don't use it much, but it is a smaller package.....you could try it as an alternative to all the problems. Regards.
