PSI is incorrectly reporting the ThinkVantage System Update as insecure. It is linking to Tvsukernel.exe which it reports as version 3.0.23 while the latest System Update is now 3.14. However, when one opens System Update, it reports that it IS version 3.14. Even when I removed the program and re-installed it from scratch (rebooted, used cc cleaner to remove left over traces in the registry, etc.) and followed the "solution" path provided by Secunia, the same thing still occurs. The Tvsukernel.exe reports version 3.0.23 which the actual program version installed is 3.14. So I think that PSI is checking this program incorrectly, perhaps linking to the wrong file in the application folder. |

I have had the same issue. The program version from control panel is correct at 3.14.0024. | ||||||||

I run Win7 and ThinkVantage System Update version 4.00.00024, which is only for Windows 7. An inspection of c:\program files\lenovo\system update\tvsukernel.exe properties indicate version 3.0.23.0. Looks as if Lenovo used an older tvsukernel.exe file with this version. | ||||||||

I'm having the same problem with PSI - ThinkVantage System Update 3.x is being flagged as insecure. PSI states that the current version is 3.0.23.0, but that is not correct. When I run ThinkVantage System Update and click on Help / About it shows the current version to be 3.14.0024 . Furthermore, when I actually run the ThinkVantage System Update program, it does not update itself... which it always automatically did in the past. The problem seems to be with the PSI database. |

| @AnthonyWells Thanks, missed this thread ;) -- The rules have been updated, so now version 4.x is detected and shown. As for version 3.x, there are some problems, but we will examine how best to handle this problem. Thanks to everybody who cooperated. |
