Maurice - you resolved this earlier, here:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/411...

I'm reinstalling programs onto a new hard-drive and have just installed Office Home & Student, 2007. The MS Yellow shield icon kicked in and installed 18 updates.

Secunia showed PP Viewer was insecure so I went to the MS Update Center. There were another 16 high priority and 9 advisories. I downloaded them all.

Secunia still shows this as insecure:

Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007 12.0.6414.1000

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\PPTVIEW.EXE

I followed your suggestsion in the above thread (4117). But when I came to open Office12, I found two icon there: PPTVIEW (the application) and pptview.exe.manifest - I couldn't find pptview.exe to rename it pptview.exe.bak.

Have I missed something?

You need to change your folder options to display file extensions.

Go to Folder Options > View
Untick Hide extensions for known file types
Apply
