PSI does not seem to be scanning for latest version
of Google Chrome yet.
I installed Google Chrome version 5.0.375.55 today
(25May2010) and PSI did not detect it under any category.
5.0.375.55 is being updated thru normal channel that you
access by clicking tool button, then "About Google Chrome",
and then update.
PSI did not detect that I had updated to newer version and
did not remove reference to older 4.1.249.1064 version.
Checking folders I saw update had not removed 4.1.249.1064.
I then decided to do complete uninstall and install new
version not update.
With that completed 5.X ran fine but still was not detected, and 4.X
was no longer detected. No detection of Chrome what so ever.

5.0.375.55 is "not beta" version.
I have restarted and rescanned.

I guess PSI has not been updated to scan for Google Chrome 5.X .

Please someone from support confirm this and also add 5.X to
"Select forum/Select vendor of the program/Select the specific program"
list - "Google Chrome 5.x" .

Hi,

My guess is the definitions haven't been updated yet. I have the same problem with Foxit Reader, which I just updated, and PSI isn't detecting it yet. Just wait a while and it will probably be fixed.

Cheers

This version update of Chrome is very new, and as suggested above, has probably not been added to PSI detection rules yet.

You (we) can either wait for Secunia to catch up (as with Foxit Reader), or use the Suggest missing programs option from bottom of some PSI tabs (Advanced), to speed things up.

I just installed this version of Google Chrome, and it is listed on the "patched" tab.

However, on the "Safe surfing" tab, Google Chrome does not show up, while other browsers do.

Kind regards,

Gert de Korte

Today I noted the link at bottom of all
four program tabs of PSI,
"Program missing? Suggest it here!" .

Sorry, if I had seen it earlier,
I would not have started this thread.
