I have tried several times to patch a security threat, OpenOffice.org 3x. I can't seem to download and install the solution. Internet Explorer keeps closing. I have rescanned my computer several times also and the Security Threat is still there. I would welcome any advice.

Hi Elide. I am wondering if your browser is the issue. If closing prematurely,is it due to not having a connection to the internet. Many reasons for this but won't cloud the issue until you let us know.
Next, if it is just with the program, click on your toolbox in your display.Starting on the left you will see a row of directions. Click one at a time from (L) >> (R).
Each direction is simple to follow. Barring no issues,>restart your computer and then rescan. If new to doing this, take your time.All should be functioning with no security weaknesses.
For the browser, it it comes to this, we will deal with it when it happens.
Please when posting, add all pertinent info. Also add to this :
Browser-name,
Computer name;
Amt of Ram
How much hard drive
IE 7 or 8.it could be a different #
What program you are running.
All this info can be found in your computer file.

Hi Elide.

Some good advice from MaritimeRider, especially the "take your time if this is new to you". Hope it works for you. If not, post back, especially giving the info MR asked for.

Also, you may wish to look at other threads which may be relevant.

Thank you for your reply. I ran the solution again this morning before I tried anything else and my problem has been resolved. That would only make me think that the problem was with my browser. Again thank you. I have incuded my system information.
