These come up as security problems and I try to patch them and even have rebooted to no avail. Idid this three times now and rescanned each time again to no avail.

Please advise what to do next.

Sincerely,
Paul Maurer

Hi Paul

Re. Adobe Reader - the following Secunia Advisory applies - you should follow the solution offered (part way down).

http://secunia.com/advisories/40034/

@Anthony Wells (a forum contributor) offered the following advice on a similar thread:

Quote ..... "I have renamed the Adobe Reader "authplay.dll" by adding "_old"." Unquote

As of now, I don't think there is a patch - just the workaround, which will (hopefully) make you more secure, but will still be flagged by PSI until a full vendor patch is issued.

I can't offer more advice, as I ditched Adobe Reader, in favour of Foxit Reader, a long time back, due to these continuing insecurities.

Open Office should be updated to 3.2.1 (English_US only - English_UK should follow within the next few days hopefully), from the following link:

http://download.openoffice.org/other.html

Scroll down to the languages and choose English (US).

The following advisory relates to O.O.

Hi,
In the Secunia CSI, you can follow the status of the package on the Patch/Available -menu. Right click the package, select information and check the status of the specific host. This will allow you to see the status of the patch (installed, not needed etc).

If you are a Secunia PSI (Personal Software Inspector) than I would advice you to use the PSI forum instead. http://secunia.com/community/forum/psi/

Thanks
Isak
