David (DCS) has posted in the below thread*** that Microsoft updates have failed.

A scan earlier today showed several new problems; they weren't there yesterday. The first was that .NET was insecure. I clicked on the Download Solution to the right and then waited while 18 updates were installed. I rescanned and found that I still have the .NET problem here:

Installation Path: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation\SMSvcHost.exe

I then checked my MS download history and found that of the 18, three related to .NET:

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Update for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB982168)

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 Security Update for Windows 2000 and Windows XP (KB979906)

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP x86 (KB979909)

I again clicked on the Download Solution icon and the MS Update Center shows no further updates are needed, neither priority nor optional.

So it seems that unlike DCS, my updates succeeded but my program is still vulnerable. Can I safely remove it?

Resolved.

I restarted the PC, checked again for updates (none), scanned again and all the insecurities have gone.
But now there are other problems.

New thread.
