adobe air shows as a insecure after scan. when i go to the dowload link it goes to abobe site and trys to install. then sows this error. "Sorry, an error occured. an error occured while installing adobe air. Installation may not be allowed by you administrator. Please contact your administrator."

I am the administrator! windows xp pro with only one user. Does anyone know why this would occur?
I've tried all I can think of.

Please see the following link (Troubleshoot Adobe Air). It will open down the page at the point that should be relevant. But much more troubleshooting info is included if you go to top of page and check sub-headings.

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html#during_...

You may want to consider uninstall (remove from Add/Remove Programs - full details are also included in the above link), and fresh install latest version from:

http://get.adobe.com/air/

In my above suggested link, it advises the use of "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility ".

I now recall previously reading a reply on another thread, from @Maurice Joyce that caution should be exercised relating to M$ Office - but cannot exactly remember why or what.

Sorry if this again complicates things, but unless Maurice picks this up and can clarify (or I can find the relevant post), then pay particular attention to any check-boxes for Office.

EDIT: Found info from @Maurice Joyce, as follows:

Quote:
"Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
=======================
Although U will see items listed this tool should NOT be used to remove any part of Microsoft Office 2007.

If a programme is installed using Windows Installer it can be removed by using the Microsoft Cleanup Utility.

Download it from here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301"
Unquote.
