Secunia reported a vulnerability in Flash CS3 today(2010/06/14) and when I downloaded the solution I received a file (sa_flashplayer_9.exe) a no instructions. I ran the file, it opened but nothing happened. No instructions from the vendor (no big surprise since it's Adobe).

What are we supposed to do with the file?

If you go to the Adobe Security bulletin:

http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/ap...

towards the end is a link for CS3 to the Flash Player Support Center. If you follow this link you will eventually find instructions on how to update CS3. I'm afraid it is a manual process.

Hi

This is a rather strange update and not very user friendly

Rename the downloaded file to FlashPlayer.exe

Replace the old FlashPlayer.exe located in the "Players" folder in the Flash CS3 folder.

Rescan with the PSI and you should now be flagged as "patched"
