I have done the updates as Secunia stated, but still am getting an update error issue. Updated via link, ran full scan again, still update error.

In my control panel I have listed:

Java (TM) 6 update 20 and
Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment 6.

Is there some sort of glitch that when you update it, it runs ok for a while then says you need updating again?

Also under Java icon in control panel: Unchecked box that states check for updates.

I am not sure what I am missing here, but it seems time consuming to apply patches that are supposed to fix the error, only to have them not.

If someone could please assist me regarding this, I would appreciate it.

Running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Dual Core T7100 @ 1.8GHz 4 gig ram.

Hi naturalstyles

Please try the following: Uninstall all variants of JAVA(TM) EXCEPT JAVA(TM) 6 Update 20, any JRE, JDK or JSE entries you find.

Do a full PSI rescan. Has that cleared it?

Hope this helps.

Regards, wr

Thank you very much. Your fix worked perfectly. Why didn't Secunia just tell us to delete those files instead of having us constantly downloading them over and over again?

Hello. I removed the Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 from the Programs and features: Add/remove programs, restarted the pc and ran a full scan. Came up as no threats anymore.

Thank you so very much for your assistance regarding my inquiry. It has been very helpful.

I believe that as soon as I uninstalled the above, Secunia said that I fixed the threats. I wanted to reboot and run the scan just to make sure.

Thank you again for all of your help. I appreciate it. I am now at a 100% system score.

I wish that this advise was listed instead of having to download and install the patch time and time again. It would have saved some time and aggravation if it was listed as to fix the program that needs a patch!

Fantastic help and very much appreciated!

Have a great day!!!!!
