The 9.3.3 update auto-downloaded for Acrobat Reader patches weirdly leaving the Cat. 5 threat on system. In fact, despite the fact that the About dialog reports being 9.3.3, all of the files in my Reader directory say they are 9.3.2.163.

EDIT: Nevermind. Reader was updated by Acrobat was not. Could they have made their products more confusing?

Hi Taffy, isn't it better to advice users who are not so experienced (like me)
to use an alternative like Foxit Reader if they don't need specific functions
in Adobe? I am satisfied with Foxit and updating is without problems.

Hi Leendert.

I too use Foxit Reader, as Maurice once suggested. As I had no idea how experienced DakkonA is - or isn't! - I simply referred him to that thread as it was the latest useful thread.

DakkonA: I take Leendert's point. If you are still having problems, please get back. There are loads of helpful posts here - thanks to Adobe's wonderful & weird approach!!

The most helpful thread in my personal opinion is this one:

I was using Foxit Reader 3.0 and this morning installed the latest version 4.0.
As I experienced it's better to uninstall the old version with Revo Uninstaller
in expert mode. Then install Foxit 4.0. New in this version is that it's installing
the Ask Toolbar and I didn't find a way to reject this while installing Foxit 4.0.
However, if you don't want the Ask Toolbar, you can uninstall with Revo in expert mode.

Hi Tejo, and welcome to Secunia!

Take a look at this link for some great advice:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/470...

If you still have problems please get back.

If you have to get back for more help, it will help us if you give details of your system etc - as I have done, below.
Also, can you tell us which program Secunia has detected, please. To do this, you need to be in the Advanced tab. Excellent info from wr & Anthony Wells is shown in this thread:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/470...

Hoping this helps.
