I've just had a strange experience when updating my AdAware.

I installed the latest version via C-Net; after downloading finished, the Installation Wizard ran, verifying it.

The next window was not in English - too quick for me to copy it - and the window after that was headed "Kur Delini Secin"(with c cedilla). Underneath were two options "Taman" and "Yptal" ( with a few accent marks). I chose the latter, which was the wrong one. I ran it again, chose Taman and it's just installed.

I've told Lavasoft via their forum. Has anyone else had this?

The installer at that point is in Turkish! Being fixed.

Just remember to select Taman if you have the same problem when changing up to version 8.3

I had the same thing happen and thought.. "Helloooo"!?!.. Turns out it's nothing to worry about, your cherry is secure. I'm thinking of trying out SUPERantispyware
and taking it for a test spin.

Hello taffy and zaphodity ,

In my "kitchen arabic" then "tamam" means "cool , it's OK , click me " (even if Google translate says "taman" is serbian ).

Nothing wrong with Ad-aware but the 2008 updated version didn't work for me and to date I find both SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) and Malawarebytes' Anti Malware (MBAM) suit my system/needs better - in all three cases I (have) use(d) only the free versions as "on demand" scanners .

In all events , security software is only as good as you ; do you understand it , can you set it correctly and do you feel confident using it ?? The rest is marketing and so , as taffy always says :)))

Caveat emptor .

Take your time and take care
Anthony
