XP SP3 with all Belarc-advised MS updates/fixes:

1) I use Belarc because (tho' legit) somehow MS Autoupdate doesn't work (even MS Fixit doesn't!).
2) Secunia PSI 1.5.0.0 had been working effectively under ZoneAlarm Free v8 .
3) I upgraded to ZA v9.2.057 two days ago.
4) Now my Secunia score has gone from 92% (consistently) to 0% - no programs are seen by Secunia PSI.

ZA v9 claims to require less user input than before; is it possible that it is taking the decision for me that PSI (as seen by ZA) is a naughty boy? If so, tell me to take it up with ZA; else - what can I do?

NB there is nothing in ZA's logs suggesting they are blocking PSI - but the timing of the "failure" of PSI can hardly be co-incidental - can it?

Hello.
You could try updating your Secunia version to 1.5.0.2 or to the auto- update version 1.9.0.0 ("beta") Tech Preview.
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... You can download the Technology Preview of the Secunia PSI with Auto Updates here:
http://secunia.com/PSISetupAUTP.exehttp://secunia....

The FAQ's may also be worth reading thro'/checking; if you havn't already.

Hope it helps....regards

I upgraded from v1.5.0.0.0 to 1.5.0.0.02 (cannot just now see the exact #) and it bloody worked!
Honest, I had looked for a changelog -

Dammit, now I'm in the middle of replying, I can't see the name of the respondent who pointed me in the right direction - many thanks!

Tak!

Taken from the link supplied by mogs. Under "Running and scanning", #3. Actions will be different for ZA but similar:

=======
... The Secunia PSI needs to be able to connect to Secunia servers to complete its scanning. However, if you have configured the security settings of your Internet Explorer, the Secunia PSI may be prevented from getting the scan results. To receive your scan results, you need to do some changes to your Internet options.

To do this:

Open Internet Explorer.
Go to Tools>Internet Options>Security tab.
Select the Internet zone and click on the Custom Level button.
In Security Settings, go to the Scripting>Active Scripting option.
Make sure that Active Scripting is Enabled (rather than Disabled or Prompted).
Press OK then Yes.
Back in the Security tab, select the Trusted sites zone and click on the Sites button.
Look at the bottom of this window, and uncheck the field labelled "Require Server Verification (https) for all site zones".
Type in the following and press the Add button to add them to the Trusted Sites list:
http://*.secunia.com
https://*.secunia.com
Press Close, then OK.
Run the Secunia PSI again to view the scan results.

If this has still not fixed your problem, please try opening Internet Explorer, then go to Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->Security->Check for server certificate revocation.

The Secunia SSL certificate is signed by Thawte. If the Thawte site is not accessible from the computer, and if this option is selected, then the PSI will fail to connect to our site. So please remove the check at “Check for server certificate revocation". However, please understand that this means your computer would not notice if a site publisher revoked his/her certificate, which could indicate a theft or loss.
=======

Let us know if this solves the problem.

Regards;

Fred

Oops! I'm too late, problem already solved.
