I only just updated Thunderbird to 3.1.1, so PSI tells me that Thunderbird is Insecure as it is out of date and I have version 3.1.1 installed.

Huh?

Did U reboot after the update & complete a full PSI scan to achieve that result?

Have U checked there are no remnants of the old programme still installed?

FINDING A VULNERABILITY FILE PATH
=================================

To locate the exact file that the Secunia PSI has detected, use or switch to the ADVANCED interface, then :

1 Click on the + sign of the programme to "expand' it.
2 Click on Technical Details in the Toolbox to see the installation path of the detected file. (Copy (CTRL+C) & paste (CTRL+V) the Installation Path of the file back to the Forum if U are unsure what to do next.

Version 2

Yes - I have rebooted. No - it is not a remnant.

After reading the related thread, I've removed the Thunderbird auto-update just in case Secunia PSI downgrades it.

I believe it is a new release today. From the tests U have done I suspect their database is out of sync. U could make a new programme suggestion to Secunia so that others do not have the same issue U have found.

Thanks Maurice. I'm not sure how I make a "new programme suggestion" though. Can you clarify that for me, please?

I'd suspect that this issue is already being addressed and will be resolved soon, anyway.

I agree but here is the info requested in case U have other programmes U want them to check for U.

Open the PATCHED tab.

Scroll to the bottom & U will see in blue "Program Missing? Suggest it here!"

Click that - fill in the boxes (the really important one is to point to the program exe file via browse)

Click Suggest Program

Re-scanned. Everything fine now. Go figure.

My thanks to all respondents.

David,
If all your problem is now resolved could U please lock (Accept) the thread. This will prevent us both from receiving update emails from "tag on" posts.
