I am in need of assistance. I have an insecure Akamai and can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of it. Have tried the directions but my dell 4700 just won't let go. Can anyone help me?

Is it not registered in Control Panel>add/remove?

It belongs to an Adobe product.

Edit:

I have done a bit more research for U. Here is the link to Adobe which explains what to do.

Please let me know if it works. The download manager is another piece of Adobe bloatware & dross. Your Adobe programme will work perfectly well without it.

Hello and thank you for your notes. In following your directions I got to enable or disable add-ons then found the only link to be adobe pdf link helper which i disabled. I never found downloaded activex controls.32 bit.or select download/manager control. Should I try to delete the entire product?

for some reason I cannot reply to the original thread. You asked what version of Adobe I have, I deleted it and reran the scan and still no correction of problem. Also on the simple secunia scan I do not show the graph by reinstalling did not help either. Any other suggestions?

Hello.
I don't wish to butt in nor interfere...Maurice is probably busy elsewhere at the moment. But it may be worth you switching to the Advanced interface meanwhile. It is not difficult....see top right of the psi panel Simple and Advanced....you will gain access to the info you need by switching.
A prog/file shown as Insecure or End of life, will show up in those tabs. Alongside it you will see a + sign....clicking on that will expand the entry to reveal the file path....which is often needed to resolve matters.
It may be that you are not able to see the gragh etc., in the Overview because your IE8 needs setting for Secunia.
Please have a good read of the FAQ's at :-http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...
Hope this is of some assistance and apologies if we've crossed Maurice whilst I was typing this !!

Regards
