I am running windows xp and using windows 7 on a netbook which came with the java 1.6.x/6x preinstalled. It came up insecure on secunia (advanced user profile). Despite all my efforts I can not remove it. Following is a list of all my actions: through control panel I uninstalled- still had the alert, reinstalled the newer version from java-still alerted, followedthe link from Maurice to the JAVARA and completed all the steps, did this 2x because it still came up insecure even with the uninstall completed (did this step 2x because when I clicked on all the boxes for additional tasks it could never find the c:\javara.logfile), then I followed an old link from Maurice to java-it said to go to control panel and uninstalled, the program was not listed so I could not remove it.Still getting an alert after all that so I followed the installatiion path and found 8 files with java as part of the name. The installation path is-C:\ProgramFiles\Hewett-Packard\HPQuickSync\jre\ bin\java.exe. I would like to get the secure version in these files- if that makes since. Can any one help me figure out what to do here?
Thank you!

The first thing to do is to go to Hewlett-Packard and see if they have any updates for the QuickSync software.

If you don't use it, and don't think you ever will, consider uninstalling it.
