Secunia is showing 2 insecure programs that both relate to net framework 2 & 3. For some reason these are not downloading via the MS update site. My system tray keeps telling me there are updates waiting but i have only been able to download 1 out of 3 updates.

I keep getting a false positive. I am being told to upgrade my VLC player to 2.0.1 It was upgradecover 2 weeks ago.

System has been rebooted numerous times since then.

Hi BC019.

A. This section, “Vulnerabilities”, is used mainly by the Secunia team to announce news of problems; in addition, there have been some issues which might make members reluctant to post here.

So I suggest that you will have more chance of getting help more quickly by posting this again in “Programs or Open Discussions" (see the list on the left).

Also, it will help when you reply if you tell us what PC/operating system etc you have, as I have done in my signature.

B. Before you repost, we need to know what file(s) Secunia has picked up as vulnerable:

1 Go to the main Secunia PSI window & click on ‘Advanced’ if it’s underlined in blue. (Don't be put off by the name "Advanced"! It's easy to follow/use.)

2 Click on “+” to highlight & expand it.

3 Click on “Technical Details” (in Toolbox”)

4 This will give you the installation path of the vulnerable file. If you copy & paste it in your next reply here, we’ll be able to help.
Best wishes.

PS Finally, check out this thread:

new thread opened by bc019 here:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/497...

EDIT: PS Secunia must have moved this thread from Vulnerabilities to Programs so now there are two live threads. I suggest that (a) Secunia lock this & (b) That you help bc019 on the other thread!
