Hello,

PSI 1.5.0.2 does not store settings (continuous program monitoring). I want to have it off - but on every start-up it is on again. How to solve the problem?

PS: PSI is running on two PCs parallel

thanks in advance for your help,
Harald

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this issue. However, we are already aware of this bug. It should probably be corrected when PSI 2.0 rolls around.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks for that answer - do you have any workaround for me? My second PC is a Laptop with a Pentium M715 (single core) and this option eats up a lot of speed (taks a long time after startup the PC to make it responsive for input - to say it simple: it breaks it down to a nearly stillstand!).

Any idea?

greetings,
Harald

Harald ,

In the "settings" tab , if you "untick" the "Start the Secunia PSI on boot" , it will stay "unchecked" . You will need to start the PSI manually from the PSI icon in "All Programmes" or via a shortcut , etc. so this way it does not affect your start up ; you load the PSI when you have a spare moment to so do .

There is a bug which means that "Enable Program Monitoring" is always ticked/checked when the PSI is freshly started . You need to "untick" each time you fully exit and restart if the actual monitoring is a problem - it isn't usually , but it can clash with some programmes :eg: THunderbird .

That's the best you can do .

Anthony
