In another thread Maurice Joyce referred to PSI 1.9.0.2 and gave a link to the download. What is that version? At http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... the current version is given as 1.5.0.2, which is what I have. Is 1.9.0.2 suitable for both XP(3) and Vista Home Premium (SP2)?

Thanks

Hi. PSI v 1..9.0.2 is a test version with Auto-Update

I (and many others here) have Secunia PSI v1.9x which has an Auto-update facility for some programs with a past history of vulnerabilities.

If you go to this link

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/444...

you will see what the TP version does, and the background/rationale. This will not only help you understand what it’s about but it will also show you where/how to download the latest version of PSI v1.9x

When you’ve installed it, you’ll see a new tab “Auto-Updates” on the main Secunia page, between "Overview" and "Insecure". This has a list of programs that will be auto up-dated when you "tick the box".

Hoping this helps.

Last edited on 13th Aug, 2010 13:23 Hi,

PSI 1.9.0.2 is our Technology Preview of PSI version 2.0. The main feature we've added is the ability to automatically update certain applications, without any user intervention.

For more information, see http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/444...

Edit:
Looks like I was beat to it. ;)

Hello again, Peter.

I've just realised that we don't know which country you live in.

As Anthony Wells has pointed out elsewhere, please bear in mind that PSI 1.9.0.2 loads International versions only. (Thank you, Anthony.)

For example, if you're in Germany, you would get an English version of Firefox and not a German one , so you might lose German programme settings. Not a problem with Flash though - so if you are in a different country, don't tick all the Auto-Update boxes until you've given this aspect some thought.

If this has helped you resolve your problem, please lock this thread by hitting the “ACCEPT” button. (This is only available to you, the originator of this thread and will also block any further system-generated update emails.)

Also, please tell all your friends about Secunia!

If you want any more info, do let us know.
