Can anyone assist in removing an insecure program please.
I am using Windows 7. and the insecure program comes up in the Advanced Mode as: Microsoft Outlook 2007. Version detected 12.0.6514.5000. The installation path is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE
According to Microsoft I have all current downloads installed. But I just cannot delete this insecure program.
Many thanks

Hi Vonken.

This section, “Vulnerabilities”, is used mainly by the Secunia team to announce news of problems.

In addition, there have been some issues which might make members reluctant to post here.

So I suggest that you will have more chance of getting help more quickly by posting this again in Programs - one of the other sections in the list on the left.

Before you repost, please also find out what file(s) Secunia has picked up as insecure:

1 Go to the main Secunia PSI window & click on ‘Advanced’ if it’s underlined in blue. (Don't be put off by the name "Advanced"! It's easy to follow/use.)

2 Click on “+” to highlight & expand it.

3 Click on “Technical Details” (in Toolbox”)

4 This will give you the installation path of the insecure file. If you copy & paste it in your next reply here, one of the experts will be able to help.

PS Which version of Secunia are you using? (Bottom right on main screen)

Hoping this helps.

thanks Maurice - missed that.

Vonken - I would still suggest that you repost this in Programs, for the reasons I mentioned.

Before I stopped using Outlook eighteen months ago, I too had problems. Microsoft said I had the latest updates but when I searched on Belarc, I found that I hadn't**.
Worth checking there?

http://belarc.com/free_download.html

** I remember that some of MS's hot-fixes hadn't worked so they re-did them. I'm sure you'll find info on that by googling.

PS:

Vonken - The solution might be in this thread:

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/476...

But you'll see the solutions there worked for some but not for others.

If you're still having problems, let us know and repost!
