Cannot connect to any URL, like the forum, from PSI. Get message "Unable to locate an appropriate web browser for the requested URL". Click on that message and get new message, " An error occured while trying to open the specified URL".
How do I correct? Have tried deleting site and re downloading. I suspect some MS glitch, but what. Your help is appreciated.

I must be dense. The following instruction makes no sense.

"Notice the path to the browser in the registry key?
If the path refers to a browser no longer in that path, the user will get the "URL error" in the PSI
If the path refers to a browser that is on the system, the PSI will open links in that browser."

When i open the regedit i get a bunch of keys . What path does it refer to??

What it is saying is:

Open regedit.

Click on:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT (The top option)
Expand that key by clicking the arrow on the left.

Now scroll to the http entry - Expand http & scroll to shell - Expand shell to open - Expand open and U will see command.

Click Command - in the right hand pane U will see an entry like this:

(Default) REG_SZ "C:\program files(x86)\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe-nohome

What does yours say? If there is no browser mentioned that is why PSI will not work. If there is a browser that is the one used by PSI.

Name (default) Type REGSZ Data (value not set)

I added "C:\program files(x86)\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe-nohome" to data.

Copied the info you sent to me. nothing happened. Was I wrong to do this?
I appreciate your valuable time.

Sorry my previous wording did say "Click Command - in the right hand pane U will see an entry like this:

(Default) REG_SZ "C:\program files(x86)\Internet Explorer\IExplore.exe-nohome

What does yours say? If there is no browser mentioned that is why PSI will not work. If there is a browser that is the one used by PSI.

The actual IE entries are different dependant on the system in use.

For a 32 Bit system the DATA entry will read
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome

For 64 Bit systems the DATA entry is

"C:\Program Files(x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome
