I have tried multiple times to remove the "EPUWAL control.dll from my XP machine following the instructions with every variation possible without success! I even tried the "Vista instructions". I keep getting messages that what I am commanding is not an acceptable command. I gave up and again tried to install the downloaded active x replacement from ebay, then extracted it to the downloaded program files folder twice and still the scan shows the outdated active x control. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Which part of the Vista instructions aren't working for you?
If you open a command prompt, and enter these commands, preserving quotes:
cd "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files"
dir

You will get a listing of all the files in that folder. As explained in the update instructions, you can either simply remove the control and let eBay reinstall it when it's needed, or you can extract the downloadable solution and overwrite the old file. The solution can be fetched from here: http://tools.ebayimg.com/eps/wl/activex/eBay_Enhan...

hope this helps.

The Vista instructions that I tried was to right click on command prompt and sign-in as an administrator, which was for Vista only. My machine is "XP"
After a couple more trys, I discovered that I needed to leave a space after the "cd" which I had not done previously. Forgive me for being a novice!
Also, I previously opened the downloaded file, opened it which then allowed the "Extract" option but extractiong it to that folder Did Not Overwrite the old file! It was necessary to remove it first! What did I do wrong there, if anything?
