PSI listed Cyberlink PowerDVD 3.x as EOL and my DVD player will not work without it on my XP machine. Can someone suggest a free replacement such as an open source type DVD software that would be best? -- Disabled doer of many things, mostly in the out-of-doors |

Hello @davebrigg , Here is an old thread about another DVD player which was "EOL" :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/249... The problem is looked at early on concerning codec packs to play DVD's in Windows Media Player and and other player replacements . An option , if you have the $ would be to upgrade to the latest version on offer from Cyberlink :- http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/homepage/index.jsp Here's a link (can also be found in the first thread link) to Gizmo's website's review of free players :- http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-windows-... Hope this will give you some ideas . Anthony PS: I currently use DivX player for my needs . -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |
