Hi,

When patching Microsoft Applications, it is important to keep in mind that some updates do not "kick in" before a reboot. Therefore, it is recommended to follow this procedure when updating Microsoft applications:

1) Check Microsoft Update, installing all available patches
2) Reboot
3) Repeat step 1, and if anything was installed at this step, repeat step 2
4) Run a full rescan with the PSI

Has this resolved the issue?

Hello.
It sometimes takes a couple of tries at installing MS updates, and worth doing a reboot before rescanning.
If a vulnerability is still then detected.....what is the path to it ?
Dependant on the version of psi you are using....1.5.0.1 and 1.5.0.2:
If not already using; switch to Advanced interface ( top right psi panel Simple/Advanced. Then click on the + sign left side of the insecure entry to expand it, to reveal the file path. Click on Tech Details and it will confirm it.
Similarly, if using psi2.0 Beta....click on the + sign to reveal and twice for further info.
If uncertain how to proceed, post the info back to the forum.
Often it's the case that tho' you update, Secunia still continues to detect the old/previous version....even if in the Recycle bin.
Please provide as much info as possible.
Hope this helps........regards,

Thomas,
This will fix it for U.

MSXML 4.0
+++++++++
MSXML4 was shipped as an independent, downloadable SDK targeted at Independent Software Vendors and third parties. It is an upgrade for but not a replacement to MSXML3 as version 3 still provides legacy features. Versions 4 and 3 may be run concurrently.

MSXML 4.0 SP3 is the most recent version released in March 2009, SP2 support expired in April 2010.

The download link is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx...

PLEASE READ THE RELEASE NOTES - A download link to read them is on the same site.

If U do require to update your current MSXML4 Secunia picks it up as secure with version 4.30.2107.0 provided U have downloaded the additional patch via MS Update.

The problem still resists
windows update allwise says no updates.
The extra download is installed!

The location of the tread in my PC is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NewTech Infosystems\NTI Media Maker 8\Media Maker\msxml4.dll

ShallI deinstalle the relevant programm? I don't know if it is just one of the OEM pre installed programms or its something I installed later
