Despite numerous updates of the latest java update, Secunia keeps telling me to update this patch. It never goes away on subsequent scans.

Go to Control Panel>add/remove.

Uninstall all versions of JRE or JSE or JDK or JAVA(TM) EXCEPT JAVA(TM) 6 Update 21.

Do a full PSI rescan & all should be in order.

Despite having a 100% Secunia score in 2 XP pc's, one using version 1.5.0.2 & the other using the latest 2.0 Beta, I was surprised to find that I had Java Version 6 Update 20 installed.

Should Secunia have alerted me that these Java installs were outdated, I'm sure it has done in the past?

It is not outdated by "vulnerability". JAVA(TM) 6 Update 20 is secure. Update 21 was a cosmetic update. PSI is a vulnerability checker not a general updater.

U are correct. Released today & it appears to have at least one vulnerability update in which case that is the one required.

Good idea. Thank U for the update notification.

Edit:
I have now installed the 32 & 64 Bit versions & it is correctly registering in PSI as JAVA(TM) 6 Update 22.

Thanks for the info regarding the difference between updates & vulnerabilities.

It was the Defensive Computing blog http://blogs.computerworld.com/17150/java_should_i...
that alerted me to the latest version 6.22 today & I've manually updated to that.

I would now expect to see Secunia alert me to the latest Java version in the next day or so on another unpatched pc.
