I have the PSI Beta version of Secunia. It is showing WinDVD Gold 5 as end-of-life. I don't find it listed anywhere on the computer (OS XP), but I do have InterVideo Player in Add/Remove programs. When I tried to uninstall InterVideo, I got a message that uninstalling it may cause a problem in playing DVD's.
This is the path given in Secunia: C:\Program Files\InterVideo\WinDVD\WinDVD.exe, version 5.0.11.533
I have no idea what to do from there.... : ) . Secunia also shows _ _ under the 'threat rating' . Does this mean I can ignore the program? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

Don't assume that the 2 programs are one and the same - I wouldn't uninstall InterVideo Player, in place of Win DVD Gold 5 - you can Google both to find out further info. to see if they are related.

In most cases, it is unwise to ignore any problems thrown up by PSI, but to deal with them.

You need to find the file location of the E-o-L program that PSI is finding. As I don't yet use PSI2.x beta, I can't offer specific advice as to how to do this, but look for anything like [+] or icons for Tech. Details or Open Folder. On 1.5.0.2. which I still use, by hovering the curser over the listing, would also give the location.

Here are instructions as to how to find Installation Path in PSI Beta (copied from a post by Maurice Joyce)

PSI VERSION 2 (BETA)

From the DASHBOARD page click on SCAN RESULTS.

1. This will list all your programmes with a + to the left of each one.
2. Click the + sign next to the item that U want help with.
3. This will reveal the path under DETECTED INSTANCES.
4. Highlight it then copy (CTRL+C) then paste (CTRL+V) that path back to the Forum.
