A vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft .NET Framework, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error in the JIT compiler while optimising code, which can be exploited to corrupt memory when a user visits a web page hosting a specially crafted XBAP (XAML browser application).

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

NOTE: This can also be exploited to break out of the ASP.NET sandbox with a specially crafted ASP.NET application.

The vulnerability only affects Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 on the x64 and Itanium architectures.

Hello,
I have no x64 or Itanium architecture but I get shown this vulnerability by secunia psi. How can I get rid of it from the list without setting the program to ignore? I don't want to ignore the program at all as it is no good idea. There should be some feature to delete or ignore only this message and not the program. How can I do it? Thank you in advance!

Hi,
I have just solved the problem. PSI was showing 4 patches missing but there was only NDP20SP2-KB2418241-x86 missing. After installation of it everything is fine now. But I stil don't know how ignore only the missing patch message and not the program at all. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello @newpost ,

As a new(-ish) poster to the Forum , let me advise that you have opened this thread in the "vulnerabilities" sub-forum by posting in the comments section of a specific Secunia Advisory - in this case SA41751

This comments section is reserved for technical input concerning the Advisory and nothing else . Your comments are not relevant as they refer to your own problem in understanding use of the PSI information .

To gain help with your problem , you need to create your own thread in say the program sub-forum and repost there ; look in the the column higher up on the left hand side of this page .

Take care

Anthony
