I am new to not only PSI but to computers. I only have a computer to keep in touch with kids/grandkids. So im a rookie at this. I scanned my computer PSI found 15 insecure items. They r acrobat reader 5.x the fix link lead me to install reader 9.4.0. also svg viewer 2x updated to 3.x. Java jre 1.4.x PSI had no fixes. Also jre 1.5.x/5.x and jre 1.6.x/6.x each jre file on the scan list 6 times. The fixes for them were all the same install Java TM 6 update 22. Did this for all just kept reinstalling java TM 6 update 22. Kept replacing it cause thought it may contain patches for each. After rebooting and rescanning everything is still there. What am i doing wrong. Should i uninstall all java programs from my computer through windows control panel except Java TM 6 update 22. Like i said grandpa here is a rookie Help.
HP pavillion 520n
Windows XP sp3
IE 8
Any help would b appreciated.

Yes. Uninstall all the Java versions except Update 22.

(You could probably manage without it altogether)

I have the same exact problem with the Sun Java 1.6.x/6.x category 4 threat. I've tryed the solution, and had same threat re appear. I. reported this vunerability to Secunia. You can do the same by clicking "Vunerabilities" , and filing a report , which will include your e-mail address, so they can follow up, and contact you directly.
