Used your link to chrome as well as your wizard and they both downloaded the end of life "update" for chrome, thought you should know. I do love this program though. For the most part you have been accurate, Thanks!

Hello.
I just found myself wondering why you use the link at all.....a click on the wrench/spanner and then About Google Chrome is my usual method.
Are you sure you are not looking at the previous version left behind after the update; which has to be deleted manually ? Tho' there has been the occasional report of simultaneous removal.
What version of psi are you using ? What tab was/is pointing to an inaccuracy or vulnerability ? Have you checked in the Patched tab and Secure Browsing as well ?

Regards...........

With every Chrome update, a new file is created, still leaving the previous version, which PSI will continue to find until it is manually deleted.

You haven't stated which PSI version you have, but the following relates to PSI 1.5.0.2 - there would be slight differences if you use 2.0 beta.

- PSI in Advanced mode - click top right of window, then OK;
- click on End-of-life tab, where Chrome should be listed (if not, then Insecure);
- on l.h.s. of Chrome listing, click "[+]";
- from Toolbox, click Open Folder icon;
- you should now see both file number versions in Windows Explorer;
- make sure old version number is highlighted, right click and delete.

Wait a few minutes, if a pop-up bubble from PSI tray icon doesn't show "Removed Program" for old Chrome (when Program monitoring is enabled), then re-boot and full re-scan PSI.

This should now have removed the old insecure file. You may need to delete this old file from Recycle bin, as PSI still reports the contents of this.

By replying to relevant threads, will hopefully keep them on the first page, and relegate this overload of spam to the second page.
Apologies for unnecessary e-mail update.
