LAJoe Scan Freezes

I just installed the most recent version of PSI (11-25-08). As with the previous version, the scan, and the program, freezes at 85%. Closing the program has no effect since it runs in the background.

The PSI uses Windows Update to look for missing Windows security patches. When a scan stops at 85% completed it usually means that there is a problem using Windows Update on the affected computer.

To verify if this is the case please open Internet Explorer, click Tools and then Windows Update.

After succesfully completing the Windows Update, please perform a full system scan with the PSI and see if it completes.

Thank you. Unfortunately, for a reason that I have not yet been able to determine, I am unable to update Windows. When I can, I will follow your suggestion.
