Hello.

My DVD-ROM is working only sporadically. I've had it for a few years. It is a Samsung DVD-ROM SD 61E.

I asked for help on my Device Manager, but it asks me questions I don't understand, like is it an SCSI Device.

Is there some way I can update this driver? Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thank you.

Hello.

My email address has changed within the last 10 days, so that may be the reason I didn't get these responses to my question until today.

I tried the link you gave and it told me that the media I am trying to read is 'unreadable'. That means I have to replace the disc. I'm happy to know what the problem is and I installed this tool from Microsoft on my desktop.

Thank you very much for this terrific help.

Hello Maurice:

I tried the link you supplied to try to determine how old my Samsung is, but the link would not respond. Nevertheless, thank you for your suggestion Maurice.
