I have 3 PCs running XP SP3 that I have PSI installed on. 2 of them run PSI just fine. However the 3rd one, while installation went fine, running it is another story. It takes a looooong time for the internet verification to complete. There are no errors and it does finish, it just takes a long time. Then once it's ready for its initial scan, I tell it to scan. It starts and the percentage done jumps from 1% to 93% and then the scan aborts. No matter how many times I reboot the PC or uninstall and reinstall PSI, it's always the same. What could be the problem preventing a completion of the scan on this one PC? JL |

It could well be at Secunia's end. At the moment the server has malfunctioned resulting in temporory lost of data & no scanning to all users of PSI. Perhaps best to wait to see if this is the error once Secunia fix the problem. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 SP1 16GB RAM |

I don't think that's the problem because I was using PSI on all 3 PC's at the same time and the other two had no problem connecting and then running a scan. JL |

I'm having the same problem tonight, both on one PC running Windows 7 Home Premium, and on another running Windows Vista Ultimate. Fresh download on the 7 computer from minutes ago failed to correct. I noticed also that my profile suddenly showed as unregistered on the Windows 7 computer, although it is possible I did not complete it when I set it up a couple of months ago. Profile is intact on the Vista PC. See if that has happened with yours also. -- jsandgren |

Same with me. I was running fine until I needed to reboot for another irritating adobe update. I am guessing Secunia will have it working before long. I will check in the AM. Later in the AM that is. I believe it is only affecting the people that have either started or restarted psi. It is still working on my vista computer although I have not tried running a scan with it. |

Thank you for reporting the issue, it should now have been fixed. Please perform another full system scan with the PSI. |

I don't know whether the problem was on the PC or at Secunia's end, but it's now working. I left myself logged in during the night with the desktop locked. When I unlocked it this morning, the scan was running normally like it should and finished showing a couple of vulnerabilities. I checked my IE settings per the FAQ as suggested on all 3 PCs and they're all set up the same so I don't think the problem was there. So whatever the problem was it appears to have been fixed. Very curious though that it should happen to 1 out of 3 PCs that are almost identical. JL |

If there was a server problem causing the outage with this one PC, then why did the other two PCs not have any problem at all during the same time? They're all at the same location so I tend to lean towards the problem being on the PC. But in the future, if I have a problem on one PC and not others I will wait till the next day to try again. There was really a server problem during the timeframe I mentioned. This was confirmed by Secunia support staff this morning. I do not understand why two of your pc's didn't have any problems. The scan abort is still unresolved on 2 my Windows XP machines. 3 Windows 7 machines were successful. |
