Secunia Personal Software Inspector 1 has a TROJAN virus fom Download.com. I have ran 2 AV programs and both detect the TROJAN. I uninstalled and ran online AV scans to rid the bugger. Please make users aware before downloading until the situation is resolved. Thank you for the freeware. I hope I posted the thread in the right spot.

I loaded secunia on 2 PCs without incident with mcafee AV and AVG 7.5 running.

If you list the AV tools that you used then there would be something specific to address (potential'false positive' finding).

Thank you for reporting this.

However, this is in fact a bug in your Anti-Virus programs.

Please contact the vendors of your Anti-Virus programs and ask them to fix their detection signatures.

There is NO virus/trojan in the Secunia PSI.

I am working on that right now. Thank you so much. But the online scans also detected the bug as well.

please go to CNET download and read other users comments. Or if it is alright I will copy their comments and paste them here for you to look over. Please let me know what else I can do to help. The TROJAN is a really BAD one. And it is running in the background.

Before getting excited and stating a program to be infected with malware it's a good idea to scan it using more than just a handfull of AV-programs. http://www.virustotal.com uses over 30 engines and is free.

Hi,

For your information. PC Tools have corrected their buggy detection signatures.

(unknown source)

Jakob, thank you for your reply.

Below is the message from our QA Department.

"The signature that detects the file SYSTEM.DLL as Trojan.Pakes!sd6 has already been removed"

So, this issue should have been fixed in our latest database.

If you require further assistance on this specific request, please reply to this email.

Kind Regards,
