I have another program installed that also tells me of any updates on the programs on my computer.

At the moment it is showing these four

Adobe Air 2.5.1.17730
Adobe Reader 10.0
Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0.23 (64bit)
Nero BurnLite 10.0.10600

Yet none of these are showing up on Secunia.
Its strange at the faintest of updates Adobe is always showing up on Secunia.

This is far for any type or sort of complaint about Secunia but just a concern.

Keith

I haven't investigated any of your listed programs, but if they are listed by a general update checker and not by PSI, it could be that the updates for the programs quoted, are purely cosmetic and not security related.

PSI will only inform you if a vulnerability exists, on one one of your installed programs, when a known update is available to fix this.

The latest version listed by PSI, for each, is probably the last secure version.

If in doubt, run a full scan.

EDIT: Even Java Control Panel, Update Now, still shows update 22 as latest - and hasn't caught up yet (filehippo gives u.23 as available); so in this instance it implies that it is not a security fix (yet). I also think that Reader 9.4.1 is also latest secure version. 10 (or X) is a cosmetic update.

EDIT 2: The version of Air, you've quoted above, is the version I have installed - I thought this may have been a security update (?). I would run a scan to see if PSI confirms this or not, but would be inclined to update it, anyway.

None of these are vulnerability fixes.

Secunia will not update from Adobe Reader 9 to Adobe Reader X. It will apply the fixes to patch Adobe Reader 9. If you want Adobe Reader X, you will have to download it from www.adobe.com. I've found Adobe Reader X to be slightly flaky with Firefox. The Adobe Forum has several problem reports.

This weeks' Java release is a stability and performance update. Java.com hasn't started downloading it yet.

You presumably had Nero installed by your OEM. If you actually use it, you may benefit from the update.

Did require updating.

I have not checked out any of the Adobe
I do that from their site only
