I'd like to know where PSI saves its configuration settings. There must be a file somewhere, but I can't find it anything in the registry, or in the installation folder. I want to be sure I am backing up that file, because I have a lot of "ignore" rules created that I don't want to have to recreate if that file gets corrupted.

Hi InspectorJT;

As far as I am aware, the file you are looking for is on a Secunia server.

Hi,

Your configuration options for the PSI are stored on the Secunia servers, and are as such not possible to locally back up. Unfortunately, the PSI currently does not have any functionaly to backup or restore local settings and configuration.

However, as it seems to be a reasonably useable feature, I will make a suggestion to our developers, and they will consider including this feature in a future version.

hope this helps.

Hiya Fred.

I'd like to ask you questions such as " how are you? / how is your job search etc? /what's the weather like there?" and also "nice to hear from you again"

but there are no longer any opportunities for social chat *** and I might upset the glitterati!

*** it seems that such threads have been the cause of all the spammers posting here, with their PC software adverts and other not-PC-related nonsense.

I'd like to try to install the Version 2 beta, but I'm afraid that might end up involving an uninstall which would wipe out my current settings. It there a way to make sure that does not happen?

I have uninstalled/reinstalled PSI many times on both Windows 7 & XP to test various aspects. It has never created a problem & my original settings remained intact.

Edit: There are some new settings in version 2 & a manual to help set up but as stated the originals are left intact.

I'm happy to report that I updated to the Version 2 Beta without incident, and my settings remained in place. Thanks for your assistance.
