The graph shows I've only had two patches in December and I know I've had more than that.

Hi.

Sorry... I saw that thread but thought it was referring to the problem with December showing up twice in the graph rather than showing only 2 patches.

Hi,

This issue should have been fixed with the final 2.0 release.

If you have any further comments, questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to post.

I installed the final release of 2.0 and it still doesn't seem right (although maybe I don't understand what it shows).

Now November shows 3 patches and December shows 6. I know for Microsoft alone I installed 26 patches in December and also patched Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air, Foxfire, iTunes, Quicktime, and Chrome for sure and I think there were other as well.

Does it really seem likely that November would be only 3 and December only 6. Previous months had typically been 14 or higher.

Hi ,

If you click the [?] at the rhs of the number of patches graph title bar , you get a display of exactly what Secunia is referring to , seemingly based on released Advisories for your installed programmes . AFAIK , not all patches/updates are related to Advisories as , for example , M$ multiple KB's on patch Tuesday's :ie: some may not be made public or they may be grouped under one programme event or they may not have been tested by Secunia to produce an SA . Any non-security updates :ie: eye candy and "bug" fixes are not followed by the PSI.

Perhaps , Secunia may/can be more specific tomorrow .

Take care

Anthony

Hi,

The number shown in these graphs does not relate to the number of patches that you have installed, but to the number of Secunia advisories released in that month for products that you have installed.

And since one advisory can frequently cover several 'patches' or upgrades, this number may not be exactly the same as the amount you have experienced.

So while it does not show how many patches you, personally, have installed, it is our hope that this graph will help you notice trends in the security of the programs you, as an end-user, have installed.

hope this helps.
