I just installed 2.0 today 12/20/2010, Had great difficulty until suddenly I realized that 2.0 is a platform build, taking info from1.5.0.2. Directly.install 2.0. from download. Do not uninstall 1.5.0.2. Secunia's 2.0 has a build in uninstaller that will then "take and leave" what it wants and install 2.0 correctly for you after first scan. Everything is working fine for me. -- Windows Home Basic-Service Pack 2 Dell AMD Athlon 64x2 Processor 4000+ 2.10Ghz 2Memory 32 Bit Firefox21.0 Avast -Spybot-Malwarebytes Sandboxie IE 9-seldom |

Not sure this theory is true. First time users have no "history" from previous versions to fall back on and should expect all options to work in line with the programme Read Me file & User Manual. U should be able to uninstall the old version using Control Panel>add/remove or the PSI uninstaller, clear the browser cache & complete a clean install without error. I have completed this action on 8 PC's to date (including Vista) & PSI 2 Final works perfectly. It looks like there could be a minor issue for some upgrading older versions or completing a clean install which Secunia are looking at. That said, this is clearly a work around that fixed an individual problem but doubtful Secunia will endorse that fact that users cannot carry out a traditional full uninstall/clean install to make their programme work correctly. -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

Your conclusion is correct Maurice!!!, and that is how I started the 1st time install. Totally uninstalled with filehippo and then manually cleaned out registry. Restarted the p.c. and did a clean install of 2.0. we learned that from the old forums. I got absolutely nothing and attempted 3 scans to no avail. That is when I finally succeeded using this approach. It isn't the first anomaly that has occurred, doubt if it will be the last. refer to:http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/680...
