After upgrading to 2.0 no threat shows under that category heading --even for IE8--which was rated a category 4 highly critical threat under secunia 1.5 (and still is on my other computer). I realize there is no cure for this threat by microsoft but it is good to have the info to compare browsers etc. What is happening here??

Hello.
If you go to Configure/Settings (left on Dashboard); and then check Enable Secure Browsing page....you should then find the info you seek.
Hope this helps.....regards,

Hiya Mogs, anne c.

At the back of my mind is a thought that when the beta version was first launched, Secunia said that they would no longer show threats for which there was no fix, that there was no point. IE8 was given as an example.

I'm sticking with v1.9.0.2 for now but I'm still very interested to know if this means that in the new (non-beta) version Secunia have decided that they will after all highlight such programs?

Morning taffy !
I thought anneC just required the info specific to browsers...to be able to compare their state.
IE8 ...and every other program that psi 2.0 monitors for me, is shown as patched...so havn't got any other examples to illustrate anything different.
Why would you want to stick with the psi 2.0 Beta taff ? The new version is brill....go on; give it a go and see for yourself.

thanks Mogs.

I will upgrade to v2 when I've a moment!

In v2, does IE8 appear as "Insecure - no solution"?

Last edited on 21st Dec, 2010 09:11 Hi,

Based on the feedback of our user community, the Secure Browsing tab was added back into the PSI 2.0 Beta- and it is there to stay in the final version, although it is now disabled by default.

The PSI 2.0 will continue to show you unpatched problems with browsers and their plugins, and we hope that this information is helpful to our community.

Thank you for your responses and help. I was able to see the warning by checking to see the browser page, as you suggested. I think I like the layout of the older version better however so I have returned to my earlier version 1.5.0.2.
